Do I need a referral to see a psychologist at The Hummingbird Centre Warners Bay?

No, you don’t need a referral to make an appointment. However, if you do have a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, you may be eligible for Medicare rebates for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.

Can I use Medicare to help cover the cost?

Yes. If you have a valid referral under a Mental Health Care Plan or an Eating Disorder Management Plan (EDMP) from your GP, you can access Medicare rebates.

  • With a Mental Health Care Plan, you may be eligible for up to 10 rebated sessions each year.
  • With an Eating Disorder Management Plan, eligible clients may access up to 40 rebated sessions per year under Medicare.
