Mel is a Registered Psychologist who takes a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach to therapy, providing a space where you feel connected and supported as you work towards reaching your goals.
With experience conducting assessments and evidence-based interventions in the school and disability setting, Mel has a special interest in developmental neuroscience. She is passionate about working with people who are seeking to break dysfunctional cycles and make changes that align with their values. Schema Therapy and EMDR are Mel’s preferred approaches. Together they provide a model for identifying unmet needs and processing trauma.
Within the person-centered approach, Mel acknowledges the impact that societal stressors and generational trauma have on the individual. She aims to help clients navigate the challenges of maintaining emotional wellbeing in a culture that often promotes isolation, burnout and disconnection.
Mel believes that the best outcomes are achieved when therapy is approached as a collaborative process, prioritising connection and authenticity.
