The Art of "Chill-Axing"

Does your 11-13 year old struggle with stress, anxiety, or feeling overwhelmed? Do they have difficulty regulating their emotions? Are they quick to anger, withdraw, or meltdown?

Join The Hummingbird Centre's Occupational Therapist (OT) Leah Gencheff in this fun interactive 8-week group therapy program where we will practice mindfulness, yoga, and breathing techniques.

We will gain a better understanding of how the mind-body connection can help relieve symptoms of anxiety and stress and promote positive self-regulation strategies.  We will explore all 8 senses (yes there are 8 senses in the body!) as a tool to cultivate relaxation and mindfulness. We hope to create a supportive space that encourages children to connect with others, learn practical tools, and develop self-reflection practice.

4pm - 5pm Thursday - Commencing Week 3 of Term 3

Week 1: 8th August
Week 2: 15th August
Week 3: 22nd August
Week 4: 29th August
Week 5: 5th September
Week 6: 12th September
Week 7: 19th September
Week 8: 26th September

Location

These group sessions have been designed for males and females between 11 - 13 years old and will be held at Unite Yoga Studio in Cardiff. Bookings are essential and made through The Hummingbird Centre. 

Pricing 

The fee for this entire group program is $320 ($40 per session) and needs to be paid upfront.
